It’s been a whole 9 days since our initial release, and I have to say that I’m STILL humbled by the reads and sales we’ve had. This will never get old, I swear it. Kim Kardashian crying face is alive and well in my life right now.
My feelings about Cherish and Simon. WOOO there isn’t much I can say about them other than these two are one of my ultimate favorite couples Maddie and I have conjured up. The way they play off each other, how extensive their backgrounds we’ve developed for them, and how well grounded they are is amazing. In my opinion, I would want someone to love and take care of me the way Simon does Cherish and vice versa. (Seriously, I’d take either one.).
The character of these two genuine people also blows my mind. Since I’ve just figured out that Cherish would be the closest to my mother (I’m still have an existential crisis over it.), Simon is just a dream. Where can I find one of him? This man took in a woman he barely knew, was on the verge of losing everything, and after his wife had passed. Sure, he and Emily had met Cherish before and Emily like him, but I think there was more to it than that. Being a lawyer of a big company or fights people who try to take advantage of their clients, I like to think that Simon has seen both sides of the table. A lot of gain and inexplicable loss. Though the belief I truly go by is perhaps going home along with his son and without Emily scared him. Perhaps he just didn’t want to be…alone. His giving nature and his desire to keep Cherish around proves the fact that Simon worked through his own grief and gained a woman he could be best friends with. He may have lost his wife, but he gained a woman he needed in the time of Emily’s passing. Sometimes I think that Emily somehow knew she was dying and picked Cherish to be the one to carry on once she was gone.
Cherish is a young girl who has aged beyond her years with the shit she’s seen. I can’t really give away too much information, but how she still functions like a normal human being is beyond me sometimes. She’s grounded, young, and simply wants to do right by her children and Simon. I don’t think she realized at first that Simon was exactly who she needed as well. He helped build her confidence without making her reliant on him. He may financially support her, but he never holds it over her head and encourages her with whatever she wants to do. She’s thankful for him and it’s obvious to see he feels the same way.
That sort of dynamic, in my opinion, is wonderful and the makings of a great, firm foundation to build a relationship with. What we have planned for these two in the next coming books is only going to test their relationship and build from there. At least that’s what we want to happen. I can’t wait to see where this goes and for more books to come out so I can say more!
Loved Book 1 and 2. When can I get books 3 and 4? I want all 4 books!
